Factory savage chassis rifle?
« on: July 30, 2016, 07:08:19 PM »
Was at a gun store today and saw a savage rifle in a factory chassis. It was a 308 and threaded muzzle. Seemed like a cool rifle. I can't find anything about them online. Anyone else seen one?

saw a guy last time I was at the range with one in a 6.5, pretty impressive rifle for an off the shelf option, I think he said he was into it right about 1000$ just for the rifle though, I would take a RPR over this for that kind of money, or spend a little more and go semi custom.

He shot all day, and at one point got into a weird situation where the groups opened up to about 6" and his poi changed almost a foot. we never figured out what had caused it, all of a sudden it settled back down and started shooting under moa again (at 100 yds)

PrecisionrifleBlog.com  had a pretty good review on those savages. Apparently if you use a bit pod and load into them they open they groups up a bit. A stiffer hand gaurd would help that.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
