Bicycle setup
« on: August 18, 2016, 11:48:42 AM »
Wondering what you all use for a bow rack on your mountain bikes? I'm looking for a rack but not sure what style works best? Any suggestions on what I should go with?

I personally just have my bow strapped to my backpack which I prefer over a handlebar rack or other. I also generally use my bike to get from point A to B then start hunting, I don't "hunt" while i'm on my bike as it is generally dark. I recommend selecting a good pack that is comfortable while you bike.

Yeah I agree, I'm leaning towards a pack to eliminate vibration on the bow. I'll just be riding into my area, ditching the bike and hunten on foot. Thanks for your input.

From my experience thats best, I'm just a bit paranoid about the vibrations from the mounted racks. I use the Badlands 2200 and am quite happy with it for a 2-3 day hunt and am able to ride relatively comfortably with it. A bit large for a day pack but there are a lot of options out there!

Good Luck!!

Last couple of times out with the bike I just used one of the mossy oak bow straps and put it across my back. Easily accessible if needed and had no issues with it being secure. Plus it only costs about $25.
