If you could........
« on: August 18, 2016, 04:44:27 PM »
If you could do any hunt for an OTC tag what would it be? No matter the hike, no matter the drive. Assuming you are coming from Western WA......

I want a muley after a couple days hiking on the Pacific coast trail, I don't know when or if it's possible but it would be two things off the bucket list. High country hunt and Pacific Crest trail✔

I'd personally not spend too much time actually hunting from the PCT. Too much potential for run-ins with hikers.

A backpack hunt in a wilderness area in Washington would be great to do again. I'm sure I will at some point.

Where would you go? I've only dreamt of going on a back country hunt, not thought about planning one.

If you have the gear it's really not that hard, especially in Washington. Lots of places to go.

Probably a hunt in WY for a big muley.  Always thought that would be fun (they've got some real big uns there).

We rarely see people on the PCT in September and use it as a jumping off point for several good hunts. It's handy if you have a bike and/or game cart, too.

Ya I would be gone at least a few days from either hwy 2 or hwy 20, thanks for letting me know it's been done. I like hiking but I at least wanna know someone did it first

If you are within a wilderness boundary(you'd have to be for the high buck hunt), bikes and carts are not legal. Maybe I don't need to say that, but figured I'd throw it out there as a heads up either way. No tires in the wilderness. Feet and hooves only.

Good point. When he said "high buck", I thought it had something to do with legalization in WA.  :chuckle:
