This bull was hard horned and chasing cows and smaller bulls for hours last weekend.  I would say it's starting

Bulls are going pretty good in the white river. Responding pretty good to a bugle. Just ripped off a bugle and had four different bulls respond. My son passed on a few bulls today. Saw a couple that he was getting a itchy finger over.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.   From the sounds of things we are in the same general area.

That bull looks to have an inline point around his royal on the left?! A dandy of a 7x6 if that's about right

I am always amazed at the body size difference from a big bull to a spike.  Wow!

This guy was rut crazed, we were watching a group of cows and he bolted out of a creek bottom from his wallow and was pushing the cows all around screaming his head off. He put on a heck of a show for us tonight. I wish I would've snapped a pic of the bigger bull that was on the hillside behind him with his cows, he was unreal. Biggest bull I've ever seen. Great night in the elk woods for sure!

Yes they have started firing up last week, the property owner I have access to says there were three bulls going crazy yesterday! I cannot wait to possibly fill this tag.

That's good news. Good luck on that tag. My son is there for the season looking for his first bull.
