BUCK DOWN-Wife got it done again!
« on: September 02, 2016, 01:26:30 PM »
Well, this year was not very different from years past as my wife was only going to have about 1 or two days to hunt. Luckily she was able to get it done on the first night. Shot was a pretty far back so we gave it the night and found it first thing this AM. She is happy and so am I.

I will say that it was a rough night and she was a mess. She rushed her shot because the wind was blowing the tree around and she wanted to shoot before the wind started moving her again. She knew right away that it was a mistake. This is the first deer that she has shot that we did not watch go down. I kept telling her that we would find it but I was not actually positive of that. I reviewed the footage over and over and I just couldn't tell if is got the liver or not. The best course of action was to wait until first light as pushing this but would have put him into an area we don't have permission to be on. As you can see it worked out. When in doubt wait them out!

Congrats to your wife, Corey. And you too. That's a nice buck.

Congrats.

Hard horned already?  You are lucky, all the bucks around here are still in velvet.

Just happened that day. I have a trail cam picture from him that morning and he still has his velvet.
