Great looking moose! Private land or public? See any whitetail does up high?

There were whitetail does everywhere we went. We got the moose behind a closed gate on Forest Capital land.

Ok, here it goes. My dad brother and I actually saw more moose on two separate trips in August and September the we did this last week. We spent all day Saturday and Sunday scouting the places we saw moose and weren't seeing anything, not even fresh sign!!! So, Sunday afternoon we went into a spot we never made it to earlier and saw some fresh sing. On Monday (opening day) we go to the same place we were the night before and split up to cover more ground. Couple of hours latter I herd a shot coming from the direction my brother went so I started his way. When I got there he had his moose.
He said that him and my dad cut fresh tracks not far from where we split up and just started fallowing them down the old road. Then all of a sudden they heard a moose grunt. My did then called back and here he comes. The looked him over fairly quick and decided he meant my brothers goal. Two shots from his .280 Rem with 160gr Nosler AccuBond he was down. After we had him loaded on a deer cart and pack boards we here another grunt. My dad called back and about 15 min latter we had a little paddle bull standing about 35 yards away. So then we started the three miles back to the truck.

Congrats, very nice bull. I hunted with my buddy for his Huckleberry Moose this last week, and he got a average bull, definitely smaller than your brothers, but he was extremely happy with it and shot it in a spot that was plenty easy to get out. He passed on a couple if 2 1/2 year old bulls the first couple of days, and then shot his on thursday. Congrats on your brothers bull!
