Green River/Duwamish Salmon
« on: September 27, 2016, 04:15:35 PM »
I'm thinking of heading down to fish the duwamish tomorrow, can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of gear/general location? I've never fished this river before but I don't really have a choice this year cause of the regs. Any info is much appreciated, thanks!

Bank or boat? From shore casting vibrax spinners with a slow retrieve can work also depending on where at in the river, eggs under a float will work too. From a boat in the lower river trolling wiggle warts is best but also herring/fish flash combos work too. I've done my best trolling against an incoming tide when the current has actually reversed with wiggle warts. Haven't been out this year however so no fresh reports. Good luck!
Fish hard, hunt harder!

I'm thinking more from shore, I'll try that I have bobbers and eggs, or the spinners, anyone ever have luck on buzz bombs? Also wondering where I can fish from the bank effectively

Biters are few and far between.

Try the fishing hole down by the old drivin. Not sure where to park. I know people fish there. This is along 99 just north of Tukwila Internationan Blvd.

They just keep coming and coming through the nets but don't bite.  Never seen it so hard to find a biter but today one bit an oversized rooster tail in Tukwila.

Hi Dale.

Still coming through huh?  I haven't been out there fishing since 9-29 and it was dead that day.  But if they are still coming I am wondering if it might be worth throwing the boat in for a day tomorrow and troll around????

They have been pretty thick.  Never in my life, have I ever seen so many make it through the nets.  Big and bright too.  Finding a biter is my problem.  One day they liked my eggs and that was it.  Now I am believing you must get the spinner 1 inch from their eye to get them to bite.  Keep Throwing.

Drove out to look at nets about 5pm yesterday and they were already out.  They had till 6pm.  No boats seen.

Saturday would be your best bet in the boat, but finding biters has been my problem this year.

I haven't taken the boat since I saw you last.  I notice most fish were only 7 feet down that day, and I was trolling Brad's max depth.  I haven't figured that fishery out like you have.  I do troll too fast after watching you, but then again sometimes that works.
