Observatory Units 340 & 342
« on: October 07, 2016, 08:08:38 PM »
My dad drew the Observatory Elk for Muzzleloader (quality elk) which closes on Monday and was just curious if anybody knows a good place to go or where the elk kind of hangout? He's been at it for 3 full days (had to miss a couple for work) and he has yet to see a cow or bull. Is everybody not seeing much?

I've been up here since 5 days before the season.  It's tough!  Wish I could send you so where but I'm trying to fill my bull tag also.  First two days they were talking now I have not seen an elk in 4 days.  Did pass on a 3 opening day, missed a good one on the second day, and passed on a 4 the third.  Now the next bull goes down!!!

We are in the Red Tundra. We will be back up there Sunday and Monday. Let me know if you knock one down. Good luck!

Keep at it guys. The only way to know the outcome is stay home.. keep hitting the holes and you'll find them.

Haven't hunted there in years, but we used to see quite a few elk around Barber Springs area.  Good Luck to your dad!
