Hey D i shot a cat years ago that was a bit messed up to do a rug, so i did a pedestal mount exactly like this pic and saved the rest of the tanned pelt not used for the mount, to place on a small table etc and also had the skull euroed which some day i will mount on a piece of barnwood, for now it just sits on a shelf...

I would also do a pedestal mount, they always look good with coyotes, fox and bobcats.
