These are all great fish. This isn't my biggest, but I have 3 in this range. I think the magical 20# mark isn't achieved as much as people think unless it is actually weighed. In order for it to be a true 20 you need a min. of 39-40 inches with a 20 inch girth. The girth is the important measurement. A 40 x 19 won't quite make it. That's just my opinion.  This hen (last wild I've intentionally killed in the mid 1980's) weighed 15 1/2 gutted and had 4 pounds of eggs weighed with me on a bathroom scale. Is it a 20  :dunno:  My biggest I don't have a picture of but M_ray and i tried to tail it three times before it came unbuttoned and it was a totally different class of fish than this one I have mounted. I'm guessing 22-23.

Here's my biggest summer run from the sky..  Times Ive caught my biggest fish, my buddy fishing with me, a state fish checker  has measured my fish so I'm confident in my numbers ;)

26 pound winter run from the Humptulips and a 22 pound summer run from the Wynoochie.

Gotta see that summer run if you have a pic...my best is around 18 in the nooch but I have heard of ones that you caught.  I lost a monster below the forks of the hump many years ago...still gives me shivers just thinking about it.  Hell...throw that one up if you got it.  Thanks and congrats.

DAMN Intruder, why not list my dream list of rivers to fish. LOL   I drove through Smithers and it was all Idabooner could do to keep the truck pointed in the right direction.

Smithers is a great place.  Some really cool people too.  I could totally live there.  Hasn't really changed too much in the last 15 - 20 years.  I actually haven't been up there for 3 years.  I need to change that....

I have fished almost all of the Washington Rivers that produce big steelies, and a lot on the Clearwater, but I am stil a virgin to the magic 20# barrier.  One at 19#, and the rest were all 16# and under.  I have eaten a lot that went 20+ thanks to my Dad fishing the Cowlitz 4-5 times a week during the runs.
Dreams are forever on the mind, realization in the hands.

I love to catch steelhead on the fly,  Thats all i do.  Thanks for the comments.  The one is the snow took about 20 min to land with the eyes of my rod freezing in all.  Jumped like 3 times.  I love steelhead.
