Hey there fellow deer hunters. I posted this topic under the turkey hunting forum last night. However I don't think that category gets much attention this time of year with big game seasons going on. Even I as a diehard spring turkey hunter rarely view the turkey threads in the fall. In short, the fall turkey seasons in the NE have been extended this year to run till the end of October. Here is what I posted last night:
"I just wanted to point something out that I just found out yesterday. The fall turkey season in the NE runs longer this year. It runs through Oct 31. In past years it usually closed right before modern firearm deer season opened. I was deer hunting last weekend in Stevens county but was unaware of the change. I'll be picking up some tags for this weekend as we saw lots of turkeys the previous weekend! For some reason the change is not highlighted in red like most changes are in the regs. If you plan on hunting deer in the NE this weekend you might wanna bring some turkey tags!"
