Robo Deer Last Saturday
« on: October 20, 2016, 07:33:59 AM »
I don't want to say the location do to keeping the good work by the LEO's going, but it was fantastic to see a robo deer with LEO's working it.  It was set up well but the controllers were new at it.  We watched it for a little bit and moved on so they could catch the bad behavior of individuals.  We moved up the road a mile and we came across a roll over accident.  Maroon Toyota that rolled a few times and was sitting on it's side against a tree.   We looked in the truck and around for victims but thankfully could not see anyone.  We also stood still to listen for moans or noises and such but nothing.

So back down the road to mess with the LEO's party to inform them there was an accident and they might want to do a 50 foot grid search for a victims in case they were ejected from the truck.  They were very nice about abandoning their project for their public safety responsibility.  I kind of felt bad as there is a real need in this area to catch these poachers.  I have personally seen two deer with their heads taken off and the rest left to rot.

Ran into robot deer up Finney creek about 10 years ago. It was set up at night on a hill in the bend of a road. Looked good except the eyes were a dead giveaway. Huge amber green colored. I drove by it and could see it 10 yards out the window man it looked real, they even turned its head following my truck as I went by. Pretty cool set up and if there were poachers in the area I'm sure if they saw it they would shoot it.

Ran into robot deer

If you run into one with your truck can you now legally salvage it?   :chuckle:

I've always wanted to stop, get out and run up to the decoy screaming.......Tear the things head off and run back to the truck.

Then just sit back and see what happens.

Absolutely a trap. It was on private land and more then likely the person would be shooting from the road due to lack of shoulder space.  Wardens we're right around the corner!

I couldn't imagine they would set it on private land.  I would suspect it was shooting hours or maybe a mom with kittens?  Who knows though.
Glad they are out enforcing laws,  nonetheless.

Bango, you can call them, I did but too many houses in my neck of the woods.  Too bad too, night hunting happens all the time around our area.
“In common with”..... not so much!!
