Catching wally from shore ?

I was talking with some local folk on the bank of the mighty Columbia by Lincoln fish pins , he tells me theyput lights on shore at knight and catch them close to shore late at knight can anybody fill me in more on this very much appreciated

Cast Rapala Countdown or Krocodile spoons. Rainbow pattern for the rapalas and hammered silver w/orange stripe for the Kroc's. Caught this one at night casting rapalas.

U got that off shore ? And where?

I was actually in a boat in 2 feet of water when I caught that one. I catch several over 8 pounds every year while fishing from shore....not to mention lots and lots of eating size walleye---like these.

We used to catch them from shore not far from Buck canyon and a lot of people used to fish the boat lunch up the road.

Can we nail down this nighttime shore method so broken body rainbow rappalla with orange yarn and troll inn slowly ? Is that close ? And what time of year ? What time of night , sorry for all the questions but the local that was explaining it was drunk so any help is very appreciated.

Usually early fall  (now ) and early summer. Forget the orange yarn on the rapala..I like to cast until about 11 o'clock and then troll until I quit.
