gmu 407 areas for an 11 year Olds first deer
« on: November 09, 2016, 07:52:04 PM »
Hello to all.  I've read this forum on many occasions but never had the time to sit down and join until today.  I'm curious if anyone has any hotspots or private land they'd be willing to let my youngest son on? He's never killed a deer and I'm trying to get out the weekend of Nov 17-20, before I go east of the mountains for late archery.  We reside in monroe.  Thanks to all for the help.

Late buck in the 407 can be a tough hunt. Lots of pressure on the public land. And not a huge number of deer.  Do you have the equipment to hunt the "rifle restricted"area or are you using a modern rifle?  Send me a PM if you are willing to travel to the North end of the unit.  I have a few deer spots In northern 407.

It doesn't really help you right now, but next year you need to set your kid up with a youth hunt. There are actually a lot of opportunities to shoot a doe on the east side to get kids into hunting. 2c
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
