I have a Winchester Model 70 in .243 that was my first rifle (manufactured in the mid 90's), and I'm kicking around having it re-barreled. Right now it has a 20" barrel and is in a youth stock. Thinking a 22-24" barrel, but not sure if I should just stick with standard .243, or if I should be considering other options? Also, any suggestions on who to send it to for the work? I had contacted one place last year, and it would have been almost $1k. Not looking to build a match rifle, just a reliable shooter.
