2 Montanan bucks down
« on: November 22, 2016, 12:23:36 PM »
Finished up another year of Hunting in Montana. This year was the first time my son was out there with a buck tag in his pocket. He missed a nice buck on the second day and was pretty upset about it. but I told him we had time and don't worry about it.

buck he missed

the next day we got up to to the spot we sit and watch and seen this buck about 3/4 miles away all by himself just cruzing across the hillside. We decided to make a move and cut the distance. It worked out great. we got into position and as he walked by he stopped and my son got him. He was pretty excited to get his 1st buck.

After his hunt we flew home and two days later I drove out for my hunt. I was in a limited draw area and it was fun. I was there for 4 days and seen 40 bucks. Most of them were small with a couple shooters. After a couple close calls I was able to close the deal with a good buck. I shot him right before dark and had to leave him on the hill. Worried that the coyotes would get him that night. Went back in to get him in the morning and everything was ok. it was about 1 1/2 miles cart back the the truck in some big canyons. It took about 3 hours to get him to the truck and thought I was going to die when it was all done. Overall a great trip and now He is at the Taxidermist shop.
Sorry for the pics but I was by myself.

I'm concerned about the mountains.

Aren't they suppose to be blue on that bottle?

Nice work man! Your solo hunt sounded like mine back there this year. I had that same have to leave him over night feeling you had. Glad he was still intact.
