Nice deal. I was going to pick up the 650 but with some research the 750 was recently released so I decided to wait hopefully next year the 750 will be on sale since the 650 are discontinued.

Was reading about my GPS and noticed a 16 hour battery life. Is that on regular AA batteries? Also when the battery dies  like sitting in a closet for a couple months ,   do you lose all your waypoints and stored data ?

All data will be stored in memory of the device.  Losing power should not impact what is in memory.
My 650 runs a long time on the rechargeable battery, but I turn the radio function off unless I'm hunting with others that have radios.  I also keep the backlight pretty dim.  There are things you can do to improve battery life, but if you're going back country, it is best to have a solar charger or spare batteries.
