Any traditional muzzleloaders shoot at issaquah sportsmen club?
« on: December 03, 2016, 07:25:02 PM »
Any traditional muzzleloaders shoot at the issaquah sportsmen club? I'm a 38 year old newbie to the muzzleloader world. I picked up a lyman trade rifle in .54 cal. It's used but new to me. I have all the gear to get started just hoping to get some help with getting things rolling from someone with experience. If anybody is interested let me know. Thanks Jason

I shoot an inline now but originally started shooting a traditional and am a member at the issaquah range.
I should have more free time post holidays to meet up at the range if you're still interested.
welcome to the black powder world :)

That sounds great!! What made you switch over to inline? If you don't mind me asking?

I got into hunting on a borrowed lymann .54 cal rifle actually!
I switched when I got serious and it as time to buy my own rifle and picked up a knight disc extreme.
the lighter weight of the knight and the availability of .50 cal stuff was a bit more appealing to me.  either way if your gun shoots straight and you are comfortable with it, thats all that matters!
having a new fancy rifle doesnt help you find the animals any better.
I am for sure down to meet up and help you get the hang of it though!
love shooting my black powder guns, just dont like cleaning them  :chuckle:

The trad muzzle club shoots there on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Get ready for some serious wood envy if you go there then. When I was there I shot my inline near them and really enjoyed looking at all the cool guns and techniques they employed. I'm a member and if I get time this month might be able to meet up.
