Take it to a actual mechanic. Les Schwab is for tires.

Yep. And make sure the collision center can measure and see what's bent and what's not bent. Stuff is going to add up quick there. If insurance isn't involved yet, I'd get the ball rolling with them.

Suggested list on a rack for a 2wd Juke is $2838.75. Labor time is 3.5 hrs, so that seems a little high, but fluid will need flushed and an alignment done. Also appears to need a control arm as well. Ouch.

If the insurance company is involved, take it to the dealer and have them handle it. If it needs to be farmed out, they'll send it to a frame/body shop. Insurance company and shop will handle all the legwork for you and it'll get done right.

If MSRP is $2838.75, the $3k price is either rounded up for the sake of conversation or they're offering up a blown up matrix price.

Price can also be different from varying dealers if they are quoting a dealer part. I have two Chev dealers near me, one is 1 mile away the other is 8 miles away and there parts prices are different  :twocents:
I also will jump on the insurance bandwagon and there is more messed up than the rack

Pretty much every dealership I know of puts an inflated matrix price above and beyond MSRP and they're all different.
I've seen different prices quoted at the same dealership based on calling the front counter or the back counter.

Les schwab will give you the highest possible quote fixing things that may not need fixed.  Let them stick to tires. They rape plenty off from you there.   Hopefully she has insurance and deal through them as stated above.

I had to replace a rack and pinion last year, and the original quote was quite high.  I talked to the mechanic and learned that they could only find a new rack and pinion from their parts supplier.  I talked him into installing a used assembly, purchased by me.  The overall cost was reduced by about half.

Their 3000 quote was for only the rack and pinion not any of the other parts btw

I'd get another quote.  I had mine done at West Richland Auto Repair in the Tricities
