Aluminum is supposed to look like that.

 Says who?

Has that boat ever seen the water.  :chuckle:

It's like a giant flasher when trolling for salmon

Rob's boat is a mirror and super cool, but way too much maintenance for me.  I like the dull - grey look, after a few years in the salt they look perfect!  I also like a quick garden hose and put it away for next time.    I started to polish mine last year, holy crap  :bdid: I decided it looked really good grey, that is tough work...  So makes me appreciate the work Rob puts into his North River...

Thanks Mike but let's not confuse everyone, once you get two years into yours, you sell it and upgrade bigger....... :chuckle:

Anyone use Shark Hide or any similar products?  I would like to get this thing looking good again before I trade it in.

I've tried it, unless they have figured out a effective way to spray it on, I won't try it again.

It dulls the finish, so counter productive after spending time polishing. :twocents:

I would never put an aluminum boat on the road or in the water without applying shark hide first period! Amazing product!

Well I need to get this boat cleaned up before I trade it in. And by these pics you can see the aluminum needs attention. It has held up well using Salt Away and Terminator when I wash it and flush it but it's time.  On my 3rd set of trailer brakes also and finally upgraded to discs.  I am too afraid to start buffing and polishing because once you start you have to finish  :yike:

Aluminum still looks really good - just some surface corrosion. I would steer way clear of doing any polishing - as it adds a ton of maintinence . Shark hide every 6-12 months it's would still look perfect.

These guys are in Portland.  Talked to them at the sportsman show a few years ago.  People don't like to talk price without seeing the project, but they did say about $700 including shark hide.
