You only ever get one first of anything.  And betting you'll get another bull canvasback, in better plumage, might have you waiting a long time.

I'd say mount it up and be proud of a great trophy.

I totally agree. I'm getting my 1st Bull Can mounted(this year's bird)and it could be a little more feathered out in white but it's still beautiful and I've waited a long time for this one. Shot two more this past weekend but both are no better than the one I've got in the freezer.

Well, I switched my frozen Can out with the one I just shot this past weekend. Bigger and feathered out better. Breasted out the one in the freezer. He'll eat good.

I messed up after comparing both birds. I put the better one in the freezer all wrapped up and the other one in the sink to thaw for cleaning then took pics. Oops, the old one is still in a nylon stocking. Stocking is perfect for sliding a bird into to keep the feathers perfect. Just cut the toe off and slide it the rest of the way thru when you get to the taxidermist.
