I have a Coleman Extreme. I've noticed that it holds ice much better than the larger Igloo that Costco sells for $100. Its obvious that the Coleman has thicker walls than the Igloo. Wondering if the RTIC would be a step up in ice retention over the Coleman

I would say it's 2 steps ahead.

Wouldn't that just be the worst thing, companies that manufacture overseas using communist labor would have to actually compete with good old American companies who support local economies.

The roto molded coolers are for sure stronger then the Coleman but there have been numerous tests that show the coleman retaining ice just as well as many of roto coolers.  Of course the yeti usually is at the bottom of the list of all of them.  i

Looks like yeti is no better than the igloo  , I have a Coleman and igloo. Never bought ice once after initial fill October 12, got home on October 25. The cooler with my meat still had at least half of the block left on all them 5 count Coleman extreme. My igloo had three blocks about half of the block left, plus it held my crushed ice, three bags all lasted long enough I didn't have to buy more of them either.

So the cheap ones work well enough for me, funny thing is when I was researching my Coleman extreme last fall a guy bought a yeti saying he want spending anymore one cheap ones.
