New Sight
« on: January 24, 2017, 07:36:32 AM »
I like to keep things simple.. don't really go with micro adjust on things if I dont need to and try to minimize moving parts overall.  I like the set it, lock it in, and forget about it otherwise I find myself tinkering with something that works in the middle of the season.
Currently looking to upgrade the sight that came on my bow...I recently upgraded to a QAD ultra rest, and sight is next...with the idea that when i finally do upgrade my bow, i will take the rest and sight along with me.
I am not looking for a slider as I do not shoot, nor do i intend to at long ranges, I am wanting just a fixed pins sight with minimal moving parts.
My current idea was to get a MBG Rush from S&S archery and have the revenge base added to for the ability to tune 3rd axis.
Is it worth it to jump up to the black widow or revenge anything higher if I am not interested in getting a slider sight or micro adjust?
140 for a sight with a great warranty and ability to adjust the 3rd axis seems like a solid enough deal to me.
Any input is appreciated.

I am a SpotHogg guy myself.  I am pretty rough on equipment and they are super durable.  I custom order mine from the archery shop.  I can have bigger pins for my 20 and 30 yard pins, medium pins for 40-60 and micro pins for 70 and 80. I can also pick what color I want the pins.  I alternate and do red, green, yellow, red, yellow, green and red. It keeps me from getting pins mixed up.

I am a lock in place and go guy myself but my broadheads and field points shoot slightly different.  I ended buying a second sight so I would have one for field point shooting and one for broadheads.  I just swap out the entire sight between the off season and hunting season.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I put on the MBG Vengence sight 4 years ago and noticed an improvement with a properly adjusted third axis. I would go for anything with third axis. I also use the poor mans micro adjust. barely unloosen an adjustment screw and lightly tap with an object that has a plastic coating such as a screwdriver handle or my favorite a hex key t handle. Don't hit hard just lightly tap. you should notice very fine movements doing that.
