I agree 100 percent that everyone should be in draw as well. Just wish it didn't take two times lol

PS I'm not bitter or upset about the results either. I wish everyone that was selected good luck. I do think that JWEBB was outright swindled though, he should be entitled to a permit. EVERYONE should get their money back; it was WDFW's decision to go computerized...if the results go up once,  they should stand as-is, not pulled and redistributed. Might be politically incorrect, but where I come from we call that an Indian giver!

Why was he swindled?

He was selected for a permit and then had it STOLEN from him due to a failure of WDFW's computer system, resulting in a re-draw. He was not the only one that experienced the glitch, many had their points mysteriously disappear and reappear later on. I don't know if you're being philosophical with your comment or if you just haven't read the other comments from many other hunters noting the glitches as well...It is clear that this was a system-wide error and WDFW needs to take responsibility, apologize, and issue refunds to ALL applicants. Simple as that.
I was going to stay out of this but I just can't.  I was there at the draw, after the results were posted the first time they saw immediately that 4 people, 2 groups didn't get their points applied to the draw. 4 people affected out of over 7,200 and they found it, they knew the draw had to be 100% correct so quickly pulled the results off. A few hours later, conference calls to Baltimore with people working overtime, they finally got it 100% right for all of us.  Trust me, they will not accept any possibility that any one person gets left out. We saw all the comments on Huntwa, some gave us a good laugh, some showed the frustrations, they understand and were hell bent on getting it right and posted before they went home.  I get the frustrations, I've bitched plenty myself, but I can assure you, they worked very hard to get this done and done right.
This just blew my mind. How in the F can people be left out of the draw? Can anyone explain this with specifics? What kind of ancient technology/computer program are they using where someone who submitted an application to their database gets left out of a computer generated, algorithm based, randomized draw? Of all states in the West, you'd think Washington would be at the top for technology.

To confirm, they weren't so much left out, they applied and that showed up but they either didn't pick ghost points or a hunt number, or it just didn't get applied. It really is a complex deal, their determination to get it right was impressive.
I respect their dedication to correcting the wrong but any issues should've been identified and fixed before they even adopted this system. It's like a teenager wrote some BS app and sold it to the state for bottom dollar and the state adopted it before actually checking it out thoroughly and making sure there weren't any obvious, huge bugs like what happened this afternoon.

Calvin makes a good point. They shouldn't have been posted on their site until the results were triple checked. But they definitely did the right thing to do the Redraw to include the missed applications but the fact that there was even missed apps is crazy to me. Typical government sector though. Had this been the private sector and this happened, people would no doubt be losing their jobs. But I would imagine if it was private sector then the draw would've probably been ran within a few days instead of a few weeks. And also accurate the first time.

This is a new system with a new company, they for sure had bugs to work out, but previous tests ran perfectly.  They absolutely paid attention to every detail and I feel pretty confident they will nail it next time.  Let's be glad this wasn't the big draw in May!

Ya unless you weren't selected for a moose tag the first time then got one on the second go around lol. I was not selected on both today so I'm not too upset personally but there's just so much wrong that happened this afternoon that I've lost all faith for the June draw. If I get drawn for any of the big hunts, I won't believe it until I have the permit delivered in the mail haha.

Why is everybody mad,if you didn't draw you got a point for next year,if you get your money back then you lose that point you just for,and 6 dollars c'mon ,that's not enough for a pack of ciggs, wow

Nothing to do with the six bucks, hunter...Man, get with it...it's about sending WDFW a message that we don't deserve to put up with this crap.

So even though four out of five of us drew we should get our $ back...  they can keep it.  :chuckle:  :IBCOOL:  :hello:

But what if one of the five had his permit taken away and given to one of the other five (same thing that happened to JWEBB), does that work for you? No offense but are you a communist?

I take great offense to that and hate commies. I hate all Marxist train of thought.  If you knew me you'd know that though......  sounds to me like obsessively checking the results could be a real mind *censored*.  I'm not calling, asking like a baby for my change back cause they had to redraw.  My family drew four tags...  if one got taken away after the redraw I bet 4 got added. I was checking the same minute as j and all our points went up.  So I figured no good...  Good to know you want our money refunded cause a redraw.  Doubt they give a single dollar back. Besides my bogus 10$ fee.  :chuckle:

Well, that's the way WDFW was behaving when they took JWEBB's permit away and communized it over to someone else, just sayin'. The big problem here is the amount of resources these clowns have, yet they still just can't get it right the FIRST TIME!

PS - I like TriggerMike's quote which is so true, " if it was private sector then the draw would've probably been ran within a few days instead of a few weeks. And also accurate the first time. "

Is the draw/license system not produced by a private contractor? That was my understanding.

Just talked to wdfw in Olympian for 15 minutes. They informed me that the first draw was done incorrectly leaving out 4 people as trophy hunt had said yesterday. They ran my wild Id number and indeed I was selected the first draw. But since they screwed up and forgot to add 4 people to the draw they took it away and completely re ran the draw. They apologized multiple times and the lady said that the system was working perfect up till the first draw.  She said there is no compensation what so ever for their mistake. Again, I do agree that the draw needs to include everyone to be fair. I am just truly disappointed in the WDFW for allowing this problem to happen in the first place. In no way shape or form should their results be posted to the public until the draw is done right. So after its all said and done I was selected than not selected and now WDFW is not doing a thing to make it right.
