Will Easterns come into merriam decoys
« on: April 01, 2017, 09:54:09 PM »
I found a few large groups of Easterns this morning, and was wondering if they will come into my new DSD merriam decoys.

Merriam's and Rio's will crossbreed where there populations overlap, I don't see why an Eastern would discriminate. I would probably just try a lone hen to be on the safe side. Good luck, phantoms don't come easy!

They make DSD decoys specific for turkey subspecies? I thought their decoys were pretty much universal if not even more designed more towards Eastern colors already.
Even so, I doubt it would make much difference

Yes they make them for each species, but you need to order them from them, to get desired species
