Eastern Washington 2 Bear Tags?
« on: April 10, 2017, 12:09:10 PM »
I feel like it's my birthday.  Or does this just mean you get a second bear tag, but that would be for Western Washington?  Got this email this morning:

WDFW WILDLIFE PROGRAM

Dear Spring Bear Hunter:

Congratulations on being drawn for a 2017 spring bear hunt permit. If you successfully harvest a bear during the 2017 spring bear season and are interested in purchasing a second bear tag for the 2017 fall season, you can purchase your license and tag beginning June 30, 2017. WDFW is in the process of updating the new licensing and reporting system. Therefore, for the 2017 season, a second bear tag may not be purchased before the June 30 start date.

Your license and tag can be purchased in the following ways:

Online at http://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/
By phone at (866) 246-9453
At any license vendor in Washington State
Customers purchasing online will first need to create a user name and password to access their account information, if they have not already done so. Information on how to create a user name and password in the new licensing system can be found at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/content/pdfs/WILD-Account-Instructions.pdf.

Sincerely,

Wildlife Program
WDFW
Dreams are forever on the mind, realization in the hands.

Sounds like nothing has changed...you can shoot two bears in Washington.  One east side (spring if you drew) and one west side.....or two west side.  Just not two on the east side.   Sounds like they are just advising you can purchase your second bear tag in June should you wish to hunt a second bear.   :dunno:
