March 7 meeting: Standing Room at the Inn
« on: February 21, 2009, 11:06:51 AM »
IMPORTANT: I was just informed that the hearing room at the Quality Inn will only 100 people and that the sign-in starts at 7:30 AM not 8:00. IF you want to testify, I suggest you arrive early.

I'd just like to remind everybody that it's about the hunting, not just the killing. In other words, it's about the total experience, the sport itself and the challenge involved. Bowhunting, done right, is a justifiable and honorable pursuit. Done for the wrong reasons, simply chalking up kills and seeking personal glory, it's taking away rather than giving back to a principled way of life that has to be experienced to be understood. we might need to nominate spokespeople.
 :dunno:
they have it at a small venue to keep from getting overrun with angry sportsmen.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

You need to invite a TV Crew and have the REAL meeting outside in the parking lot with everyone that can't get in!!!

This is a meeting open to the public, THEY DO HAVE TO ACCOMMODATE the amount of people that show up and if that means they have to hold the meeting out side than so be it..thats what i was told from some one who was at the closed door meeting today
so DO NOT LET THIS DISCOURAGE you from showing up at the big one March 6th and 7th.

Please pass this along, i made a point of having this asked at the meeting today.

Yes, Hunt4 is correct. It should not be misconstrued that we are to be deterred by the prospect of a large crowd and standing room only. On the contrary! We need to fill up the room and then some! There is some talk about bringing some awnings and a barbecue for the parking lot so we can have some hot dogs and get the ducks in a row before the important agenda item rolls around at 12:30 PM.

The WSB president has reserved the conference room at the Bar 14 for Friday from 5 PM until closing. This is to serve as a meeting place for archery hunters; don't have to be a member. It might be a good time to compare notes and formulate a loose plan for Saturday.

The room is free so long as enough folks eat their dinner there and maybe have themselves a brew.
