Considering that most of the Damascus blades are made in the middle and near east, that's not surprising. They need to eat, too. Looks like a cool blade.

If that is sharpened on both sides like I think it is I don't like it. I guess you could dull the back side though. Otherwise I can see the need for a lot of bandaids in the fur shed.
How thick is the blade? A nice thin blade is what I want.

It IS sharp on both sides.  That was the first thing I pointed out to my wife.  I will be dulling that side for sure! Not a super thin blade, but I think it will work nicely.  The one thing I am concerned about though is the weight, it is a tad heavier than I was expecting or wanting.  I'm thinking a long day in the skinning shed and this knife will be getting heavier by the slice!
