Lake Washington Rainbow caught on the 13th Feb
« on: February 21, 2009, 02:00:00 PM »
2-13-09 Fortunately Jim Dykeman was summoned by Sharon to photo the Washington State
and probably world record rainbow, taken in East Channel right in front of the M.I. Beach Club
docks, starting in late afternoon with battle continuing into the early evening. WDFW analysis
still continuing on scales, otoliths (ear bones) and some sort of fish DNA to eliminate
possibility of some "mutant" Lake Washington living (as in Lake Chelan) king salmon.
This better get me not only platinum WFFC pin but part of stimulus $$$$$. Nearly broke
the WSDA certified scales at QFC at 44.6 lbs. Have to run; press & various stringers and
agents at the front door...........................................Don Gulliford

that guy's head doesn't belong on the much younger guy's body who caught the fish.
that fish was caught last year or so and was on the cover of fishing and hunting news. the kid who caught it was probably in his 20's.
and it wasn't caught out of lake washington.

I'd buy that if you can show me the cover of the fishing and hunting news.  I got it in a email so those are always suspect.

LMAO! That first pic is not the best photoshop job in the world, that's for sure!

Here's the actual pics of the fish. I have the story too and will post the link shortly.

No problem at all Jackelope. From what I have read, these two brothers (Yes, they are twins) are pretty well known in their neck of the woods for pulling in large fish. Of course, a fish THAT big is a once-in-a-lifetime catch.

No worries my friend. We all get fooled once in a while!

I get these sorts of emails forwarded to me a lot and I think about 85% of them are not correct for one reason or another (Photoshop job, wrong story, or both). I generally do my own research before posting anything because of that reason.

With that being said, posting those sorts of emails on sites like this is a GREAT way to find out the truth IMO. Just about every time there is SOMEONE that knows the actual story behind the pics. KEEP EM COMIN'!

If I remember the story correctly, the two brothers go for triploids only. Both brothers have many fish in the upper twenties and thirty pound range and records to prove it.

I want one!
