He has 24 inch skull. And was 9' 1" squared. There guess was 12 years old. But with his tooth wear they said he maybe older. The fish and game took a tooth so at some time I should be able to get the age. He was not a mega bear. But he was a big bear.

I don't know much about them, but that seems like a very solid bear. Congrats again, always like to ask as its a bucket list critter for me later in life and like learning what I can.

Pretty cool that you won.  But I don't think the write up with pictures will be as fun if you document your root canal

I've never hunted brown bear and even without that experience, I'm going to concur with you on that! Going in today.

Am I reading this correct?  You are going to use a dentist as bait for a brown bear hunt?  I would double check the regs on that.

only legal if the dentist is carrion... but I'm sure that creates additional complications

Yes the teeth are worn down! He's also missing one lower canine tooth. And the other lower one is cracked all the way thru. I will be curious what they age him at.

I'm going to guess 14 +/- 2 years, based on a SWAG using what I can see from the pics and the tooth wear characteristics described in this compilation http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2078152015000139
