I've been kicking around the idea of a new grouse gun to replace the single shots I currently use. The new gun would only get out a handful of times per year so I can't justify spending a lot. Are any of the lower priced O/U guns worth a look? Just peeking online I've seen O/Us from Mossberg, CZ, Iver Johnson, and a few companies I've never heard of that are under $500.

I think for under $450/500 you can find a Russian Baikal, which are bomb proof. Mossberg does make U/O shotgun for less than 400 bucks but it's all synthetic stock and doesn't even look cool, and the ones they make with wood stock are around 650 bucks.

They even make single shot for under 150.00.
