Wow. That cow could have trampled that little bear to crap. What a cute little calf, hopefully grows up to be a huge bull!

I don't know how someone could just sit there and watch that, I would of had to run that little bear off.

Pretty cool, one of my favorite memories growing up was out in this woods with my dad early summer. All of a sudden a coyote comes full bore out of some thick brush and a half step behind him is a cow elk. She popped it a couple time with her hooves and he got away. We couldn't stop laughing it was great.

yes it would be hard to not help the calf but the best and most unselfish thing to do is let nature take course instead of screw in the bear over to make yourself feel better.

That perfectly summarizes WDFW's position on predators.  No we shouldn't just let nature take its course we should manage wildlife.  If we don't we won't have anything to hunt.  It is a travesty that this stupid state doesn't allow OTC spring bear, hound hunting, bear baiting, etc...

If we had not already influenced the natural order I would agree with you but with human influence and removal of habitat if humans don't do some managing we can very easily see population swings that have the potential to be difficult to overcome.

After saying that I would have run the bear off I got to thinking what if I would have run the cow off as well?  Who would come back first once I left?  The bear or the calf.  By doing nothing the calf did get away for now, we don't know the rest of the story. The bear could have caught back up with them and finished off the calf.   

It is still a cool video and something I don't imagine I will ever see in real life.

Is there something wrong with me?
And if I was there no way would I get involved, because that cow could kill you in the blink of an eye. Even if you we're trying to keep the bear from eating a meal he deserves to eat because he's a bear. The cow might not realize your a tree hugger.

Cool video. I saw 2 tiny elk calfs last weekend with cows while bear hunting, I was thinking of this exact scenario when I saw them, smallest calfs I have ever seen
