I think you and I need to meet up and chat. Did some hiking this weekend into new areas that looks very promising.

I will be over there riding again this week/weekend cutting what needs to be cut out and poking around. Just like going home

There's at least 10-15 trees before you get to the switchbacks. In the first three-ish miles there are about 50-60 of them, hard to find the trail sometimes. Heavy erosion on the trail as well from snow melt, motorcycle passage is impossible. I laid down some boot tracks for you to follow at least!

I came in from the Gold creek side easy peasy just a little 4 x 4 washout area. Sad to see the lack of animals. Spent a lot of time cutting out trails.

thank you Sky for all your work and updates! My youngest and I went in to Mitchell from the bottom (looking for rattlesnakes...damn 12 year old boy!) and saw the sign saying the lower road was closed (in June) for repairs...I am assuming the rock "road block" has been cleared up. My father said they have been hauling gravel in and heard the road from Falls Creek to S. Navarre is "like a highway" now...which is good as that steep grade up Nelson Butte always concerned me if someone was hauling a horse trailer down it!

Read on WTA that the road is in excellent condition now. Someone said the drove a regualr passenger car up there a week or so ago with no bumps or issues whatsoever.

The road is like a highway now. Good and bad I guess.

Probably not an issue if they came up to S. Navarre from the Chelan side. They put a lot of time making that like a highway for the fire. Coming in from GC or Cooper Mtn is and always will be a little rougher but prefer it like that it keeps some of the Subaru's out

My wife drew!  Looking to get her first deer.  We will probably only have 4-5 days to hunt as we are going to Montana on the 11th.
