Ranchers say wolf attacks resume in Washington state

"According to WDFW, the state shoots wolves to stop pack behavior. WDFW will consider lethal control after three depredations within 30 days or four within 10 months by a wolfpack."

The USFWS discovered years ago in Wyoming that the only way to stop predation on livestock was to take out the pack/packs responsible including the pups.

So the ranchers have to donate a minimum of 3 cows each time they put them out on range, including private property, or 4 cows before they see any effective action taken.   

and that's certified confirmed wolf killed cattle, the bulk of wolf killed cattle are attributed to something other than wolves.  So more likely the ranchers need to donate far more than 3-4 cattle before action is taken, again including private property.

That's just to consider lethal control. Probably kill 1 out of a pack. See if pack behavior changes. Maybe do some study for like 100k on it

I was with Bearpaw in the smacking pass area and many of the mud puddles had wolf tracks in them. Hope they find a way to save some moose sounds like they are doing a job on them.

Nothing like actually being in Wolf Country to open ones eyes.
