Got tired of waiting for Idaho results so I went out & test drove a new 2017 Nissan Pro 4X today. Seems like it would be a good fit for my needs. One of the things I particularly liked was that there appears to be enough room to put chains on the front tires which I cannot do with my 2013 Tacoma.

Would like to hear some of your experience with this rig.  Thank You :dunno:

Nissan is a downgrade from Toyota in my opinion

That's the only thing I don't like about my taco. No chains up front. I think you can put cable chains up there but I don't think they would last long off road. I wouldn't stray from Toyota though. If anything buy a new Tacoma

Yea if you want a vehicle that is nearly guaranteed to have catastrophic transmission failure around 100,000 miles buy a Nissan otherwise I'd stick with your Toyota

If you're referring to the problem they had with the transmission lines in the radiator, it was supposedly corrected after 2010.

Took the rims off my 90' toyota sr5 and put them on my 02 tacoma and gives me enough offset to chain the front easy.  Not sure if itll work on the newer tacomas but worth a shot!
