Looking for 45/70 ammo source
« on: June 29, 2017, 11:39:50 PM »
I picked up a Marlin 1895 in 45/70......    :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

And I ordered a Vortex 1-4 power and rings (because my eyes are too old to focus on sights and a targetr these days).
 :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

Should be a fun toy.

Any pointers on where to find plinking ammo at a good price (good being a relative term, since it is a 45/70.)

I don't reload, and don't plan to start.

Thanks,

Dan

what a great entry time to get into reloading! you will be surprised at how much you actually save once you are in production.

Best ive seen lately is some hsm "cowboy" rounds at cabelas in the mid-high $20 range per box.  $1 a round is cheap, would love to see that...

As the others have said, its a good time to get into handloading.  .45-70 is easy to load for and will start saving you money in a hurry.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Well, a member has offered to reload for me and hopefully with me.

I might just need to get back into reloading.
