William O. High Lakes Fishing
« on: July 12, 2017, 09:33:03 AM »
How's the fishing been inside the William O.? Going to hit some lakes Sunday-Tuesday for some therapy.
Tired of roasting down here in the desert for the last 21 days. :chuckle:

Where are you?
Arizona. Been consistently hitting upper 110's the entire time I have been down here. Seen lower to mid 120's as highs 4 of the days.

I haven't received any reports from here, but heard the fishing is outstanding right now. I'll provide a report in a few days

Hey Naches why don't you take a saw and clear some trail on your way. Ive even got  saws that you can use. lol I will be cutting trail for the next 3 wks up there. I don't have much time to fish up there, but I have caught some nice ones up at Apple Lk. its not much of a lk but does hold fish.

I'll probably skip out on taking a crosscut,  but will take my silky. My trail partner has made good progress on the trails we have adopted.

Fished a creek today. Fishing was good. Couldn't keep the little guys off of the flies. Missed a nice cutthroat. Back at it tomorrow.

Finally got back up on the Tumac for three days-camped at Pipe Lake which I believe is the most consistent lake of the many lakes up there-got enough fish in the 13-15 inch range to eat.  Lost a huge fish at Long John casting off the cliff like a dummy-by far the biggest fish I've seen in there.  My son caught a very large fish at Shellrock 2 weeks ago.  Kind of in the mid summer funk,  there's so much feed it's hard to catch them but it can be done.

No I haven't been to either.  Hill is one of my favorites-have you fished it this summer?

If you don't mind let me know how it goes.  I appreciate your work clearing trails, I have certainly benefited from it.
