i joined the forum yesterday and enjoy seeing everyones picts.
I thought that i'd share my bear I was able to harvest this last November.
I live in Utah which the rules are a bit different from WA. You have to draw out for a bear tag, I have been putting in for 5 years and finnaly drew! Once you draw you have to wait for 2 years to put in again.

Hopefully I can draw out soon again. i would love to come to WA and hunt bear..
After months of hiking in some of the most ruggest country ive ever been in I finally filled my tag.
I was almost given up hope.. Day after day we would turn dogs loose and come back bear-less... frustrating.. The bears up here are wise
It was getting down to the final weeks of my bear hunt.
It has been snowing up here the last couple days, about a foot deep. A friend found a huge fresh track up the canyon early that morning and told us we better check it out before it gets old. We loaded up the hounds and headed up about 9:30. We turned dogs loose about 10am and the chase was on. We hiked in 3 miles winding our way straight up hill, through rock slides, thick down timber with about a foot of snow.
It was snowing the majority of the time, the hounds had a hard time picking up scent with all the snow but finally caught up to the boar.
We had him treed at noon and then the work began. It took us 3 hours to pack him out.. I could bearly move that next day I was so sore...
What a awsome experience! Im thrilled with my bear and cant thank Gary enough for helping me.
Taxidermist said that night he is 6.5 feet with a 22 inch skull
I am having him full body mounted on the wall, cant wait to get him back
