Sig P320c REVIEW
« on: July 31, 2017, 06:51:57 AM »
The Time has come, I finally got out to shoot my new Sig P320c and here are the results! AS some of you know I recently switch my carry gun from a Glock 26 to a Sig P320c. I picked up The Sig from Sporting Systems in downtown Vancouver for $550 and added my chosen night sights (trijicon HD’s) for an additional $150. Also I have been carrying the new sig in the NSR “Yeager” holster.

What it comes with: The Sig comes in a really nice hard case with 2 15rd mags and a plastic OWB holster. Unfortunately, this is my first gripe, as I’ve harped before I HATE when I’m given a holster over a 3rd mag. Its at least a quality OWB holster, but holster choices are a very personal thing. We all have our preferences so to provide one seems pointless when ALL of us tend to want more mags. Also grip number two, the magazines for this gun run about $45 a piece…Calm the F down sig. At the time the 15rd mags for the compact were somewhat scarce online, luckily Sporting Systems had a box full and I bought an extra while I was there.

Carrying Impressions: The weight and size difference is noticeable from the Glock. I know it’s not the subcompact like my Glock was so the size and weight is to be expected. However, the NSR holster is kind of a minimalist design and helps keep me comfortable for long periods. I have a great piece of mind knowing I have 16rds at the ready and the grip isn’t too long that it poke out of my shirt.

Fit and feel: The Sig of course is made of high quality parts and materials. The fit and finish is great considering the price point. The grip is molded very well and fits my hand great vs some of the others I have handled. The trigger is what originally drew me to the Sig over the Glock. I can only describe it as if a 1911’s trigger and a striker gun’s trigger had a love child…it would be the P320’s.

Reliability: As expected the sig ran 100%. I only ran about 150 rounds through it because it got hotter than Hades up there this weekend, but I have no reason to doubt it will continue to run. Also just to double check I ran a couple mags of my carry ammo through it (federal HST 124 +P) again flawless.

Accuracy: The Sig is defiantly plenty accurate and much easier to group with than the Glock IMO. I don’t think the Sig by itself is more accurate than a Glock, it’s the trigger that makes it so much easier to shoot. I actually had a Glock 19 with me this same day so I got to shoot them side by side and the Sigs out of the box trigger is superior. First picture is one of my groupings, had  2 flyers but that was all me, the other 13 went right where I was pointing.

Conclusion: So should you sell your current carry and all its accessories and buy the Sig? I’ll put it this way, If you have a lot invested in your current gun and are happy with it then I say keep it. Some guys have a lot of time and money invested in a carry system and are perfectly happy, this would probably feel like starting over for you. While I think the Sig’s out of the box trigger is great it’s nothing that couldn’t be corrected on your current gun for cheaper. I don’t think the Sig had THAT many differences that everyone should make the leap if they are already happy. HOWEVER, if you are in the market for something new because your current gun doesn’t do it for you anymore or you are on the fence about making the switch GO FOR IT! You won’t be disappointed. I’m very happy with the switch but and would do it again in a heartbeat but Its not one that I think everyone should make. AND GIVE ME 3 MAGS SIG!

If there’s anything I missed or you have questions post them up and Ill respond if I can.

Also I forgot to mention accessories. As of now its not bad finding holsters, lights, lasers, sights (uses the same as the P225, 226, 228, 239) and modular grips so you can swap the sizes. Also being this is the Army's new side arm of choice I think the future is bright for new "stuff" you'll be able to buy for it. I already found a grip module with a built I laser! I'm happy with the gun for now but Il be ordering a couple 21 round mags soon and some more 15 rounders.

The mags just need to catch up and price needs to come down a bit.

Glad you like it I sure like mine. I am looking at a Sig 226 Legion SAO right now, looks sweet. I am finding I shoot my 45 p320 a little better than I do the 9mm p320.  :dunno:

MH, now why did you have to go and give such a glowing review and if that wasn't bad enough you had to post pics as well.  As if your positive review wasn't enough I see Sig sells a TACOPS threaded barrel version.

Ya know, at first I thought I was going to be able to resist but your review AND pic is just going to be to much pressure for a weak minded soul like myself sooooo I do believe I'm gonna need to get one of these ordered up.  Oh, and just so you know, when the Warden asks me WHY I need this, I'm 100% blaming you as my bad influence. :chuckle:

I did gripe about the mags though, so not totally glowing  :chuckle:

They are a great gun. Way better then any glock I have ever shot :chuckle: Which is a lot.

The mags are a bit spendy. The dealer price and map on them is high so finding good deals on the mags will be hard.

Another good deal on mags. Still a bit much IMO but much better than $45

So an update.

I did see the recent videos and the letter released by SIG.

Ill start off by saying I'm NEVER happy with recalls of any kind. Ive had dealings with this before with the original LCP and it left a bad taste in my mouth for Ruger ever since.

That being said

A) You make a products long enough sometimes things get over looked. I'm not making excuses its just a fact of mass production.
B) Just about every manufacture has had some kind of recall at some point for one thing or another, including Glock.
C) again not making excuses but its also HOW does the company addresses the issue.

I saw the letter today and it sounds like ill know the answer by Monday what they plan to do to fix it. IF they handle this well Ill still be happy with Sig although slightly disappointed overall with having to deal with a recall.

couple examples are like when I had my Tundra in for some of their recalls. Toyota handled it well and gave me a free rental car for the day. still an inconvenience but an attempt to make it right.

The LCP recall. again I was not happy BUT they sent a box when they were ready for it all prepaid. and on return I got a hat and an extra magazine. again not happy but it was an attempt to make it right.

I hope Sig handles this well.

On my Sig MCX pistol there was a recall on the bolt, they gave us a $50 gift cert. toward Sig products for the inconvenience.

What's the recall for on the Sig320?  I haven't bought one yet, should I wait or is it not that big of a deal??
