I have learned a lot from this site, but I don't post pictures much anymore.  I have made several friends here and we share those pics via text, email, instagram, or facebook anymore.  although I haven't really figured out instagram other than following folks. 

I find with most of the internet hunting forums they get dominated by those that can key stroke the fastest and come across as the loudest and seem like they never leave.    emoji for effect:

I find myself more active hunting, skiing, boating, and  more active with family and friends.  I find that I have less time and desire to share. 

I will say that I finally opted out of the off topics and that may rekindle my desire to participate more.

I think one of the biggest pros to this site is also a con.......pro? we are local to the NW so it is regionally intimate.  Con? we are local to the NW and into everyone's space very quickly.

Well I,ll kick in a couple penny,s( )....I am not a computer person, a tech guy, nor am I a young person. I had found out about this place from people I have hunted with, helped out, was friends with or were just folks that knew about this place that either knew me or knew someone who knew my families history. I posted a whole bunch of pics and stories a few years ago and I have never received back a negative comment or a negative private message. I  had a little issue at one time but a member PM,d me and now I totally respect this young man and respect his posts because now I know his background and history. I have chatted back and forth with a few on here (privately) and publicly and I can honestly say I appreciate and respect each one of you and all for different reasons because we are all different people and have different views of what we enjoy doing. IMHO, as long as your a person who is ethical, legal and respectful of the game we all enjoy to pursue and see prosper for future hunters...you are aces in my book .....thanks bone for starting this

I check this site often. I have posted off and on. I must say that I love the hunting stories and humor. (what ever happened to  the Y.A.R. Clan?)  Some subjects are not as fun but I find hearing both sides of an argument very educational. i.e. Native Hunting, it is a emotional subject and I really love to read posts from PlateauNDN, (well written, well thought out arguments) huge shout out to him for continuing to post despite negative feed back and name calling. Name calling and bullies suck.  Negative people who rip posts are probably the reason I don't post more photos and stories. Really if you don't like my style, humor or content just move on plenty of more stuff to see. There are many great people here and I have supported many great sponsors, Charles Taxidermy, Bravo Tents and soon to hit up Rad Sav. Bucket List item is a Cougar Hunt with Bearpaw. If you just lurk you are missing out on so much. Thanks to Bone for so many epic threads, photos and advice given.

One more goofy thought.  As all of this threads responses roll around in my empty head I keep going back to the "Report to Mods" button. This is a way we ALL can help to make the site better, even those who don't post much can get in on this action. Mods cant catch it all but we can help em with that.

Ok so heres the goofy part. (and no, I'm not sippin from a bottle) 
Who doesn't want to get extra bonus points in the Quality permits??? (A lot of talk about nit pickin photos to gain points).....Soooo Lets put that mentality towards some good for the site.

Maybe have a "Report To Mod" contest. Make it fun, the winners trophy could be a sticky thread titled, "#1 Foam Finger", passed on from month to month. Of course there is always the chance that a member could abuse this, that could be handled with another trophy thread, maybe with a picture of a donkey at the start of thread. 
That should(?) be enough to deter members from false reporting to much, if not 3 Strike rule.

Prolly never work..... just trying to have some fun, that's what we ALL need, Lets have fun and not be so judgmental of each other.

you probably still can but I haven't figured it out but used to you could see on the bar at the top the post that you had posted on but it changed and only shows the 7000 new posts...also all of ya'll success kinda makes me feel like a sucky hunter because I can't seem to find a legal elk but that my issue not the forums.. I usually just lurk the classifieds because they are the best around.

  A contest would overwhelm us, but we definitely need members to report rule violations.

I stated earlier why I frequent this site. I have off topics on ignore...but I still wonder why a hunting site needs an off topics area... especially if it is a headache for mods. There are plenty of other forums to debate those things that are not related to hunting or require members to not follow the other thread rules. I am left wondering why deal with it...let's talk civilly about hunting and leave the rest for somewhere else

Lets assume for a minute that we kill OT.  Now,every single thread that goes a bit too political is now deleted opposed to moved.  OK whatever I don't care, but many on here want a place to debate the news of the day as it relates to huntung, fishing, gun toting, and being a not really liberal.  A few just want a platform to thump from and some seem to enjoy stirring the poop by posting ridiculous links yet never sharing an original AL thought.  All of that will flood,the other boards and create more moderation forum wide.  But at the end of the day it ain't my joint to worry about, not my monkeys not my circus.
