In January of 2017 I was asked if I wanted to hunt Idaho for bull elk. By now, I am sure you have guessed we are now 4 days out and my head is racing.
It has been 8 years 8 months and 15 days since I lost my dad in a hunting accident. He was the one that developed my love for the outdoors, and chasing elk, deer, upland game and waterfowl but this year feels different. Something inside me knows a dream is playing out in real life. I have gotta say I have got to be one of the luckiest guys out there in terms of hunting buddies.
I know we all know D-rock, his dad lost his battle to cancer last year during early elk season. Since we met during late elk season almost 5 years ago I have been lucky enough to have him as a friend, hunting buddy, and quite honestly a brother. 17 days in Idaho chasing elk is going to be an interesting one and I think him and I both feel a little added pressure this year!
In hopes we get it done, here is to Dick and Glenn! Guide us, for you are the ones that taught us!
