Float Hunt?
« on: September 04, 2017, 06:19:23 PM »
Has anyone done one of these in Central Washington? I've got a cataraft and would love to use a river/stream to escape the crowds and get into some harder spots that I'd otherwise be required to ride my horses to. Any ideas welcome. I'm in Cle Elum.

If you know the water and the country and think you can get into critters, go for it.  I know some that do well each year floating.  A few who hike in and than float their elk out.

Any advice on which rivers might be worthwhile?

I do float hunt, but not for big game. I have been trying to put together a big game trip for a few years but have never seemed to make it happen. I have a few ideas for rivers and logistics but the guy I float with is not able to get time off for hunting season so would be interested in finding someone else with a cataraft that could do some whitewater and is up for it.

I see you are in central WA. I live in Cle elum, shoot me a Pm if you want and maybe we could meet up and discuss a little further.

Regards,
H&F
