Bone your buck kicks my bucks a$$ any day. that thing is huge. Mine has a lot of character but your is just a monster. Especially for washington state. Wow. I never did catch what he scored. But I will guess at about 175ish give or take a few inches. anyway congrats on an awesome buck.

bone, that looks like the same form  (mannikin) I'm using! Love that your showing the process! I plan to do the same once I start mounting up my buck! My form is the MD-G-344-55 RT SS from Research. Just got my cape back from the tannery. Now I just need some time!

I'll have to check my numbers cowboy.  I figured he would look good on the classic semi sneak.   His antlers are too tall for an upright.  You're nice Red Dawg.  Yours is still an awesome buck.  It netted 168 and change, grossed non-typical around 180 and something.  I think the score sheet is on here up above somewhere.  Yeah Passion I was excited about showing it on the form since all the pics were the antlers by themselves.  I wanted you all to see it when on the "deer" so you could get a size reference.  Thanks Dekuma.  I hope you gys enjoy seeing what I do.  I'm sure its not what the professionals do, but what the heck.  Works for me, so it ought to work for the normal guy.  By the way cowboy, thats cheating (tannery).  I have to start cleaning mine up and get it in the tan.  Talk about time consuming.  How much did it cost to get yours tanned?  Did you do it locally?

bone, I send my capes out to be commercially tanned. I use several tanneries but mine went to the Wildlife Gallery this year. A great tan! It does cost a little more to do it this way but I feel like it is worth it! Not sure on the exact cost but around $40. Cheating? Maybe. But, all I have to do is cape the animal, flesh it out, turn the lips, ears, eyelids, nostrils, and tear ducts, salt it, fan dry it and ship it. I usually request a "Wet Tan."

I enjoy that your posting your mounting process! Hope I can get started on mine one of these days!

Bone, nice looking work.  Seems like you and I must've went shopping at the same garage store!  Here's a couple shots of the first two deer I did.  The one on the right was my buddies and my first attempt.  The other one is still my best whitey, about 130.  The zilcho eyeguards didn't help the score much, but I like his rack.

Awesome Gray brow.  Yep, the shops look similiar. :) Great animals.  Are you a hobbyist, or taxidermist by trade.  You do great work.

Klick....I'm pretty sure I saw your antlers there.  I was looking for them and found one very similiar.  Lots of junk around the base and heavy mossy critter.  I'm pretty sure it was yours.

Just a hobby for me, Bone, same as you.  I use mainly stuff out of Van Dyke's, which was a good outfit before but especially after Cabela's picked them up.  I've tried just about all the major taxi supply outfits and they all seem to be pretty good.

Thanks for the kind words from you and Head-shot.
