It was a rather short, humble thank you for the trophy and the honor.  He didn't give out any gps points as to where it was shot.    

I would have probably told some long drawn out story about how I stalked the deer barefoot for 2 days, but Bone kept it short and simple

I told everyone I shot it in the Methow, but you all know I got it in the entiat, so that should make some better hunting up there.

I did plug my bowmaker and I did keep it pretty short this year.  As you can see in the photos, I wore my hunting-washington.com hat with pride.  I decided to leave the felt Stetson at home.  

The guy to the left in the tie is Pope's friend and the previous year winner of the award.  the guy presenting is Greg McTee, the records chairman.  He does a great job.  The fellow in the front of both pics is the new president. Thats Mr. Pingnotti or however you spell it.  Apparantly he HATES speaking in front of folks and you can see he was a bit nervous, even in my picture.  his event turned out great and he did a great job.   If you study close you can see a bit of some o fthe art that was auctioned.

Compared to littlefoot, I probably could be called bigfoot I suppose.  You'll all note my boottracks when you see them out in the woods and the long strides. You'll know Boneaddict was here.   It does help to bring them 300 pounders out over my shoulder and those moose quarters.   I think thats why I was letting that fellow that brought out the elk whole dig his own grave, as I can't do that and I'm not exactly a little man.

If the Mrs complains one more time I'm thinking about putting them above the bed.......or maybe the Alaskan moose would look good there.  She was a bit crabby tonight.....she graduated from Okanogan so that should expalin a few things to you.

5 months later...still crabby.   especially last night when she finally counted up all the tags I will be trying to fill this Fall LOL!  Time to work on the elk wall Moss.

My girlfriend was and still is pissed when she found out how much time away from her I will be spending!!  Peaches archery, home for 3 days, Selway elk, straight to winthrop for opening deer season, home for 7 days, then Fly in wilderness to Idaho!  Did I mention I have both the deer and elk multiseasons to use to their fullest potential.  Happy Hunting!

5 months later...still crabby.   especially last night when she finally counted up all the tags I will be trying to fill this Fall LOL! 

  I hear ya Bone, my wife told me the other day that I may have to go get ANOTHER freazer this year. Washington archery elkearly Sept, Montana archery elk end of Sept, Wash. moose Oct 1st-?, Wash modern deer last week of season Oct. Montana deer Nov. 8th-?

Talking with a friend of mine a couple of days ago who is what I consider an extreme outdoorsman/hunter. He and his wife have been married 20+ years. He hunts Idaho, Montana & Washington and does well with the elk, Mule Deer, and Whitetail. Anyway, He always mentions that "Once huntin' season rolls around, the marriage is off!." He works for himself so usually, he doesn't work during hunting season and can plan yearly multiple lengthy hunting trips. He made it abundantly clear his intention before the marriage.

Now, in my house, I think I have a pretty tolerant wife. I also tried to be clear on some of my intentions (as did my wife with hers) and although my wife doesn't hunt, she puts up with our hunts, firearms, shooting, taxidermy, scouting trips, etc. But if I tried that "Once hunting season starts, the marriage is off" deal, I'd be the one hung up and skinned.

What a tough position to be in Phool!  I is jealous.

My wife hunts so she understands for the most part.  Not too happy about bear hunting right now though........  She does not want to hunt them, but September she will be with me after Rabbit and grouse which she loves to chase.

I have 3 freezers in the garage and two in the house including the one with the fridge.     In fact, My old freezer died while I was cutting up my AK moose.  Idabooner and I had to make a tripto town.    .

As for the Mrs.... she informed me last night that she was a very supportive spouse of my hunting habits, of course I had to bring up previous infractions to the contrary.  I'm pretty sure I lost that battle.   I was also informed that she has no problem with me being on this website.  I thought that onw was also funny and I had a few instances, y :)ep lost that one too.

My wife has dealt with it and acquired a tast for elk/deer/moose burger/sausage.  However, the moose head is coming from the taxidermist here soon...

You do remember how big that thing was right?  I couldn't get Idabooners through the front door and barely got it through the slider.  That damn nose is big and in the opposite direction of the bone.  Hence why I get to keep it at my house.
