Snow chains reccomendation

So I am looking for some chains for a 2002 Toyota Tacoma that has a leveling kit and is on 32's. I'm planning a last minute hunt in Montana to avoid tag soup this year. Currently I only have 7/7 tags left including a A tags for elk and deer in Montana...

Either way, it is supposed to snow quite a bit coming into the weekend so if I take the week of the 5th- 11th to go hunting I expect that I will be hunting and driving in a lot of snow. I have never needed chains for my truck before but what do you all recommend?

As far as I have researched I was thinking about getting a set of 4 V-bar chains.

I'm from Montana, my dad was the largest tire distributor in Montana before he retired and I have a lot of experience w/chains and I run and recommend v-bar chains if you are planning on leaving paved surfaces.   Use chain tighteners or bungee cords w/them to keep them from eating up the sidewalls of the tires.  I like the all rubber multi arm ones.

If you havent used chains before you will be shocked at the difference! Just don't get stuck. If you get stuck with 4 chains on than its going to take some real work to get out. I drive a 04 Tacoma with 31's and I use chains all winter for lion hunting, absolutely necessary in the woods after December

How much room between the upper control arm and tire is safe for chains? I've got an '05 tundra and about an inch of clearance. fender edge and back of wheel well are another matter altogether...

I've trimmed a lot of fenders to increase clearance with no kill effects.

1" isn't going to cut it. Some one else posted how many newer rigs say no chains up front... could use a 1.5"wheel spacer.

Always get the burliest chain you can for the rear.  You might be able to do cables up front, which may be better than nothing...

Just make sure you test fit in the driveway. I like to mark all my chains so I'm not guessing which ling I'm supposed to be on. Use a bright paint pen or spray paint.

 Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to stop by a or a Schwab on Saturday on my way and pick some up. Looks like there will be a lot of snow, something I'm not used to at all. We will see how my hunt goes.

The unit I picked looks like it's about 30% success on elk and has a good mix of whitetail/mule deer but I'm going in blind and have never hunted there. Or even been within 50 miles of there. Should be an experience.

Rear on stock Toyota OK but front didn’t look good to me. Head advise above before you need them
Rear only was not as good as front only but still helped a bunch. All 4 is supper but they dig holes fast. Care must be taken
