When Warden Lions club did thier derby they too them out to a guy near davenport. Out of 100 dogs shot in the derby usually only half had the possibility of making the fur market and of that 50 only about half of those made any real amount at the sale.. as I remember the club got half the sale at the fur auction and only got 2-300 for thier efforts. You have to profit share with some one doing the tanning unless they are a licensed buyer... really limits who you can take it to.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Check with George Brady in Pateros, I knows in past years he bought coyotes in the round
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

George Brady - Cascade Biologic in Pateros and Doug Stanley - Hicks Creek Fur Company in Tri-Cities both have routes and pick up fur. Prices are good this year. There's a little bit of a learning curve but once you figure out which ones make the cut you don't sell as many but your averages will go up. They also buy bobcat and fox and trapped fur.

Eastern Washington coyotes are averaging $20, whole. Learn what the buyers are after so you take fewer but averages go up.

I dare say you could double your money and save expenses of hauling them to the dealer so often if you learned how to put them up yourself. It isn't that difficult.

The guy that buys them is the veterinarian in Davenport. At least he used too.

Cascade Biologic, George Brady,  (509) 322-6844 & Hicks Creek Fur Company (Tri Cities) is on Facebook or call Doug Stanley (509) 308-5277. Only two I know of that are licensed fur buyers who buy whole coyotes. Both also buy fox and bobcat as well as trapped fur and both have routes for picking up fur.

I'm a shoot em and leave em type and doubtful that'll ever change but I've always been curious what guys get paid for these things when they sell them whole.  I'm guessing it's on some kind of a sliding scale based on quality and size, yes?  When they have big holes do they still take them?  Curious how it all works.

Color, clarity, size and primeness are some basic grading considerations. The big pale dogs from November 1 to mid February bring the best money. Coyote market is strong right now and  $20 averages are common with whole dogs. Damage is also a concern but it all depends on where it's at and how good the coyote is to begin with. I will stitch bigger wholes if it's a great coyote. If it's a poor coyote to begin with I won't waste the time.
