Just curious if anyone knows if there is still ice on the lake, and how thick it is. Thank you!

I went by there on Sunday and its melted off quite a bit. Wasn't all gone but didn't look like much. Definitely open water on the east end of the lake and looked like near the shore almost all around.

No...Eliminated on the last poison out, but LARGE rainbow, bass and panfish are available.

Thank you for the info. I've been wanting to get out there, and try to hook up on some of those massive trout swimming around. Based on some videos I've watched lately, the bass population is pretty dang healthy now as well.

Cryder, that sounds like quite the day! Good on you and Roy for making the best out of the situation. How did the rest of the day turn out fishing wise?

Sorry to be bearer of bad news, but Sprague Lake is not "all clear" of ice.

I attempted to fish at the WDFW Access at the West end today (1/29) and that end of the lake is entirely iced over; including the public launch near the island. However, the East end near Sprague Lake Resort with the "Pay At The Can" launch appear ice free.

Did you catch anything while you were out there T-bone?  I went in November and got a 4 pounder but haven't been up there since then.

No...I'm a "Bankee"; so my fishing was iced over. I took the "all gone" literally.
