McCall things to do in late May
« on: February 02, 2018, 10:04:27 PM »
I'll be taking classes in McCall for 3 weeks in May. I've started to do a little bit of research on things to do. I'll have 4 days off and one overnight available. Also looking at stuff to do in the evenings.

I realize late May might not be a good time to fly fish the local rivers and creeks, but does anyone have any advice on places to check out?

Also any good drainages to take a hike up?

I want to spend my free time doing cool things and seeing cool places.

Thanks in advance.

Elknut??

I didn't think of that. Maybe I can get some tips from him on Idaho elk and wolves.

Kill a bear

That's out of the picture this year. Won't have residency until summer.

You can scout some elk for me.

Haven't ruled out the possibility of looking for elk and deer. Just won't have a use for it. I won't have extended weekends to hunt that far down the next few falls.

You are really close to the biggest yellow perch in the NW at Cascade lake, take a boat and some light trolling gear and GAME ON.

If you need more advise let me know, I will be going down in late Apr :IBCOOL:

Can't believe no one has suggested some shed hunting.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Rafting- checked that off last May. It was a hoot.

Seven Devils- I may try to explore up there. I'll be taking skis as they may come in handy.

Cascade Lake- Don't have a boat out west but haven't ruled it out.

Shed hunting- I can do that every day all summer long.
