I hunted last year in Idaho and loved it. Way more action than I have had here in WA. I have hunted twice in Idaho now, no harvest but a tun of fun. I have taken a couple of elk here in WA archery but it's seems to be getting worse every year here. I will be hunting Idaho again this year because my son can't take enough days off to use our points her this year.

I started hunting in Washington in 1954. Last year I hunted some in Washington and some in Idaho. This year I will Hunt 100% in Idaho.

That many years of experience speaks volumes to me.  Only hunted WA for 4 years now and starting to stretch the legs to other states beginning this year.  Working on choosing between ID or OR tags to start the new adventures.

And maybe go to Idaho again for late deer

I have hardly hunted elk in WA since my last quality draw in 2013. I focus my efforts on the elusive 200 inch mule deer I've been chasing my whole life. Back to elk hunting when I draw again in 5, 10, or 15 years maybe. Hopefully sooner than later

Hunting will never be really good again in Washington with the powers to be that are in control. You young guy and gals will never see hunting in this state that some of us ol graybeards have seen.

It's not just about the amount of people it also has to do with the people in charge of the F&G departments. Considering WA policy is to hire guys that were incompetent at there jobs in ID and giving them higher positions, I think it'd take a few decades of changes for WA to catch up with ID.

I値l likely hunt WA again this year for archery elk and deer, but a few of us decided to try our ID hand for archery elk for the first time. I知 also putting in with a buddy for a long shot at NM rifle Elk and I知 going to put in for MT mule deer for my first time. If drawn for that one though I値l be going at it solo.. Good luck to everyone this year wherever you値l be hunting.

I'm at the point now where I plan on hunting out of state every year, but applying in state for special permits. If I draw in state, I'll work my out of state hunts around it. I'm done hunting spikes on the East side, and I don't think I'll ever hunt elk on the west side. I'll hunt blacktail though, it's so close t home that I can do it evenings after work and weekends.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.
