Opener on a Sunday?

I'm not sure why the opener is on a Sunday? You think they would want to start the season on a Saturday and open it on the 14th instead of the 15th. any idea why?

Opener is April 15th every year regardless of the day of the week that it falls on.

Oh ok, it's only my 2nd year in state I had no idea. Thanks for the insight, I can plan my PTO a little better each year now  :chuckle:
